Lauren Kahn

Lauren has been singing acappella her whole life. She grew up singing barbershop harmony, in choruses and quartets, and started arranging music in the barbershop style in high school. She moved to Oregon for a doctorate program, which is when she found Mind the Gap, who quickly became her musical family. While directing Mind the Gap, she arranged over 30 songs for them, and she will tell you that there is secret barbershop hidden in all her arrangements, if you listen closely enough. Since 2013, she has also been directing the local women's barbershop chorus, Greater Eugene Chorus, and arranges frequently for both collegiate acappella and barbershop groups worldwide. She finished her PhD in Psychology at UO in 2018, and currently works at UO as Center Manager + Research Scientist for a research group in the psychology department.
